The makers of Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan starrer ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made in India’ has shared a one-minute video clip which shows Anushka Sharma’s transformation into a rural women character Mamta. Anushka explaining her role said that it was kept as simple as possible with minimal makeup including bangles, Sindur which gave her the feel of village woman.
”Sui Dhaaga: Made in India” is a story of Mauji and Mamta who not only encourages rural entrepreneurship but also grappled from being unemployed to being self-employed.
Revealing the secret behind her look in the film Anushka Sharma said “Manish and Sharad were not sure how I would be convinced to look like Mamta. Adi (Aditya Chopra) also was like I don’t know if you’re going to look like you belong to that world but I never had a doubt, for a second. I never thought I couldn’t look the part.”
The ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ star further added “This was the easiest getting ready process for me. The sindoor, the nose-pin, the bangles, the black thread that I wear around my neck, these things became like everyday accessories for me and that’s what makes me look different than how I look normally.”
“From the pallu over my head to the dhaaga that I wear around my neck to the decision to go completely without makeup, all this has created this character. The best part was that it took flat 20 minutes to get into Mamta’s look.”
In behind the scenes video, Anushka Sharma further revealed that she used to get ready in just 20 minutes, with little makeup and some daily accessories, the little styling of her baby hair which gave her a realistic look.
