Saina Nehwal’s Biopic: Shraddha Kapoor Roped in and As Saina Nehwal
There were speculations that Saina Nehwal’s biopic will be released soon, and Sharadha Kapoor will be seen as Saina Nehwal. Saina Nehwal who is a champion in badminton, and there is no one who is more suitable than Sharadha Kapoor to play Saina Nehwal’s role and she is officially confirmed and started preparation for that.
As Shardha Kapoor is quite busy in promoting her upcoming movies Stree, Batti Gul Meter Chalu or Saaho, because of her busy schedule she starts her day at 5 am and it will continue till the Saina Nehwal’s biopic is released.
According to the source, “The plan charted out is such that she trains for badminton on alternate days for one-and-a-half hours, works out in the gym on the other days for the same duration followed by a session of physiotherapy so that her muscles don’t jam and there is no injury. Not just physical training, but there will be changes in her diet too. She will be having a high protein diet and will be off sweets as she has to live an athlete’s life for a certain period.”
As per the report, Saina Nehwal’s biopic shooting is likely to start by September-end, and scenes that require Shraddha Kapoor to play the sport will be shot from December or early next year.
There were rumours that Padmavat actress Deepika Padukone will be seen as Saina Nehwal but Shardha Kapoor won the race and has been roped in Saina Nehwal’s biopic. Shraddha Kapoor has started her training but she says she still has a long way to go.
“It’s a difficult sport, very challenging, but I’m enjoying myself. I’ve already taken 3840 classes, but there’s still a long way to go which is why even though we start filming next month, we will shoot the badminton scenes only early next year,” Shraddha Kapoor said.
Apart from Saina, Shraddha currently has Prabhas-starrer Saaho and Shahid Kapoor-starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Stree in the pipeline.

Saina Nehwal is an Indian professional badminton singles player and a former world no. 1, she has won more than 23 international titles, including ten Superseries titles. Although she reached the world’s 2nd in 2009, it was only in 2015 that she was able to attain the world no. 1 ranking.
Saina Nehwal was the only female badminton player from India and overall the second Indian player – after Prakash Padukone – to achieve this feat. Do you know, Saina Nehwal has represented India three times in the Olympics, winning a bronze medal in her second appearance.
