Fodder Scam, Lalu Prasad Yadav Hopes verdict like 2G Spectrum Scam
Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s future is in the balance as the special Central Bereau of Investigation (CBI) Court is likely to pronounce it’s verdict on Fodder Scam. Apart from Lalu, Ex-CM Jagannath Mishra and 20 others will also be in the dock for the judgement.
Minutes before the Fodder scam judgement Lalu Prasad Yadav’s urgeed it’s followers to maintain peace, even if the verdict goes against him. He assured, he will get justice from the court as he has faith on a judiciary.
Fodder scam is a case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of more than Rs. 89 Lakh from Deoghar treasury between 1991 and 1994.
Taking a dig at Bharatiya Janata Party, Lalu said, But, I will not be cowed down with such frightening action conspired by BJP and RSS…I’ll not take rest until BJP is being wiped out from the country.”
Lalu, accompanied by his younger son Tejaswi Yadav, arrived to present himself before the special CBI Judge Shiv Pal Singh.
Besides the two ex-chief ministers, former MP R K Rana, three former IAS officers – Phoolchand Singh, Beck Julius and Mahesh Prasad – are also among the 22 accused in the fodder case.
Fodder Scam Charges heat was filed in 1997
In In fodder scam investigation, a charge-sheet was filed against 38 persons on October 27, 1997.
Citing the example of how the complete 2G scam case took a U-turn on Thursday when the special CBI court acquitted all the 18 accused, including then Telecom Minister A Raja and DMK leader Kanimozhi, for lack of evidence of their involvement in the scam, Lalu said, similarly, in the fodder scam there was no case per se and he hopes be a free man soon.
“CAG and BJP were hand in glove and both hatched a conspiracy to implicate Congress and DMK leaders in the 2G case. The BJP created an atmosphere in the country against the Congress and came to power,” said the RJD chief
Lalu said that his party has always emerged stronger whenever he had to go to jail in fodder scam case. He said that BJP was aware that he could not be defeated, and therefore, used fodder scam cases to contain him.
