The Narendra Modi government has spent Rs 3,755 crore on advertising for the duration of three and half year of its rule. This information was disclosed on Friday under the information authority. Between April 2014 and October 2017, an amount of 37,54,06,23,616 was spent on electronic, print media and other publicity.
This information was given by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in reply to a question raised in the RTI. The Central Government spent 1,656 crore rupees on electronic media advertisements. Advertising of electronic media includes community radio, digital cinema, television, internet, SMS and TV.
The government spent more than Rs 1,698 crore on print media advertisements. Government has spent Rs 399 crores for advertisements on posters, booklet, billboards, and calendar.
It has been explained how the government spent explaining the information under RTI. Between 1 June 2014 and 31 March 2015, Rs. 448 crores spent. Also, between April 1, 2015 and March 31, 2016 spent 542crores.. Spending 120 crores during April 1, 2016 to 31 August 2016, the figures are calculated.
In the year 2015, RTI was revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio talk was spent on advertising worth Rs. 8 crores for the news paper. Also, on Sunday, the last Sunday of every month, the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi spreads through Akashwani.
