Mitsubishi To launch Eclipse and Xpander SUVs in India, To Compete Ertiga, Jeep Compass

Japanese automaker Mitsubishi has been doing business in India for a long time. Now the company has planned to add some new vehicles to its portfolio in India. Mitsubishi India MD Uttam Bose said that in the future, our focus will be on the SUVs and we are preparing to take the Eclipse and Xpander SUVs in the MidSize segment. Currently, the company sells Pajero Sport and Outlander SUVs in India.

Earlier, the company sold many models in India like Lancer and Evo X Sedan. Now the company has focused its attention on SUVs for the worldwide markets including India. In the future, the company could launch a crossover model called Lancer Evo.

Mitsubishi xpander

Eclipse and Xpander were introduced last year. After launching in India, Xpander will be competing with Maruti’s Ertiga. Xpander is a 7-seater model with LED headlamps and tail light, 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, keyless entry, steering-mounted audio controls, 16-inch alloy wheels. It has a 1.5-litre petrol engine which gives a power of 103 bhp. It comes with 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission.

Mitsubishi Eclipse
Eclipse is one of the company’s most successful cars.  It was introduced in 2017. After launching in India, it will be competing with Jeep Compass. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is feature rich. From LED headlamps and 18-inch wheels to a host of safety options ranging from 360-degree camera to adaptive cruise control Eclipse has a panoramic sunroof, touchpad controller and smartphone connectivity. It has a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine which generates torque of 149bhp power and 249 nm of torque. It has three driving modes. It has an automatic transmission with the S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) system.
